Winter League 2009/10

Postby Chris - Syd on Tue Nov 10, 2009 3:38 pm

Carrying on from the success of last year's Winter League, UCZ Paintball Park is please to announce its 2009/10 Winter League. Consisting of five events, this Sup'Air Ball league will be held every other Sunday from December 20th. Every fortnight? Winter League? Yes, this is something a little different, so read on to find out more...

- Entry £65 for all five events (attend as many as you want)!
- Bring-Your-Own Paint or Field-Paint available from £27 a case of 2000.
- Dates: 20th Dec, 3rd Jan, 17th Jan, 31st Jan, 14th Feb.
- Beginner and Intermediate Level Only.
- 4-Man Teams selected at each event with a balance of mixed beginner and intermediate players.
- Ten games per event.
- Limited Paint - one hopper and one pod per game. Average of around one case per player used per tournament!
- Proto Rails and Proto Equipment Available to Loan for just £5!

We will be starting games at 10am at each event, so no silly early starts and plenty of time to get kitted up, hang out, select teams and formulate your game plans. Players enter the league as individuals (choosing either beginner or intermediate) and then we select teams at each event with a balanced mix of intermediate and beginner players in each team. The goal of this league is to have fun and learn! The intermediate players will captain the teams and coach the less experienced players on techniques and moves to help improve them throughout the series.

But how can you have a league with different teams at each event and how will league points, prizes, etc be decided? Well, this is a fun league for players, not teams, and here is the fun bit...

League Prizes!

At each event, we will have a draw for prizes such as low-value items of kit, free cases of paint, UCZ Game Tickets, etc. These are not awarded as such, but won in a random draw. In addition, there will be end of season prizes of higher value:

Individual players will be awarded UCZ Poker Chips for attending league events and for goals they achieve at those events...

- One Chip for Each Event Attended
- One Chip for Each Game Your Team Wins
- One Chip for Being Alive at the End of Each Game - Win or Loose
- and One Chip for Each Flag you Hang

At the end of the final league event, there will be an auction for the bigger prizes where players will be able to bid using the Chips they have earnt throughout the season. Players will be allowed to pool Chips in order to make larger bids. To give you an idea of prizes up for grabs, you can expect loaders, Jerseys, Pants, Goggles and so on... maybe even a marker or two if the league is popular! Bag yourself some goodies just in time for the New Year.

Registration

This is a great way to get some extra paintball in during the off-season or an even better way for new players to give the tournament style of play a try!

Registration is open now. Call us on 01626 833 200 to pay your league fee or pop in to the site if you prefer.

We are also looking for volunteers to help ref and run these events. Post up or PM me if you are interested.

This really was great fun last year with a great sense of community spirit. Make sure you do not miss out on ths year's UCZ Winter League.

Regsitering for the Winter League

Postby Chris - Syd on Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:04 pm

Right, similar to last year, to register for the Winter League, you need to either pop in to the site or call with card details to pay £25 of your £65 registration fee. The second payment (£20) of your registration fee will be due at the first event you attend. The third and final payment (£20) will be due at the second event you attend. Of course, if you want to pay up front, you are more than welcome to.

This covers your entry to as many events as you choose to play out of the five planned fixtures. Play all events and that is as little as £13 entry to each event!

You can register for the league at any point up to the fourth event in the series.

When registering, please provide your full name and your experience level. This is vital so that we can assign players between teams. REMEMBER, you do not need to enter a team in order to play these events - we will assign you a team at each event.

Teams that wish to enter will need to pay for each individual as described above. We will endeavour to keep your team together for each event, but you enter under the understanding that we will distribute players as required in order to create balanced teams and a level playing field. This ensures maximum fun for everyone and remember that this league is not about teams - it is about individuals, with each player amassing UCZ Chips at each event and culminating in an auction for prizes at the end of the series.

Call me on 01626 833 200 to get signed up. With the first event less than a couple of weeks away, we need everyone to get signed up within the next few days please!
